Welcome
Kohukohu is at the heart of New Zealand's far north. Within an hour's drive of the Waipoua Forest and the giant kauri trees, Opononi, Ninety Mile Beach, the Bay of Islands
and other scenic eastern locations, Kohukohu is an historic harbourside village offering an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.
From Kohukohu you can visit Cape Reinga on a one-day excursion or just relax and stay in the village, visit the waterfront café for a latte and maybe a leisurely lunch, and
stroll around taking in the picturesque old buildings and enjoying the Hokianga Harbour scenery.
Night Sky Lodge, our newly built accommodation in a quiet waterfront setting, has the benefit of beautiful harbour views and also a countryside location
within 500 metres of the village centre. With our 9-hectare property we have bush walks that have far-reaching panoramic views over the water to the ranges beyond.
Our accommodation includes:
- 4 double rooms all with ensuite bathrooms and own veranda (4 with
queen-size beds and one with two single beds)
- Spacious shared kitchen and lounge facilities overlooking the harbour
- Budget accommodation available
- Non-power campervan parking
- Access facilities
We are on the Twin Coast Discovery Highway, only 5 minutes by road from the Hokianga Vehicle Ferry to/from Rawene and 20 minutes from State Highway 1.
Enquiries and inspections are most welcome.
